As a part of sustainable disaster management measures by Nirmaan to safeguard against upcoming calamities & reinforce ecological balance , our Green Initiative sparked off with a phase-wise Tree Plantation Project on 8th June 2020 to mark World Environment Day. Under the project, 1000+ trees are planned for organised planting through forestation drives across different locations of Kolkata & Maharashtra.
City-based prominent parks, pavements & surrounding areas of our Education On Wheel locations are used as plantation spots involving community people, especially kids to raise awareness on climate change & create a sense of responsibility towards the resource protection for a pollution free environment. The pan-India project aims not only at planting but also nurturing the trees to maturity by regular maintenance & protective measures.
Initially drafted to restore the air quality & oxygen supply of Kolkata & suburbs taking a hit by the green casualty post Cyclone Amphan, this project panned out in other locations too and is aimed to benefit millions of resident in & around the vicinity of Kolkata, Howrah, Durgapur & Nashik to achieve better pollution control, green disaster cover, environmental sustainability & biodiversity.
