Even though 'education for all' is the most flouted philanthropic activity worldwide, the India scene still appears bleak with more than 30% average school drop out rates, only in elementary category. Poverty, child labour, lack of awareness & interest in conventional education- the reasons are manifold, and our Education On Wheel project came into foray to bridge the gap & address the bottlenecks that these street-children & their families suffer from.

Even though 'education for all' is the most flouted philanthropic activity worldwide, the India scene still appears bleak with more than 30% average school drop out rates, only in elementary category. Poverty, child labour, lack of awareness & interest in conventional education- the reasons are manifold, and our Education On Wheel project came into foray to bridge the gap & address the bottlenecks that these street-children & their families suffer from.

Initiated in December 2015 with the motto to provide conducive & fun learning experience at their doorstep, the fully equipped mobile education vans, with full time teachers, support staffs, white board, projectors, basic study materials, educational games, puzzles etc bring alive an interactive play & learn classroom feel. With unique methodologies of organic learning & infotainment that focus on contextual, musical as well as visual cues, the kids are taught subjects like English, General Knowledge , Drawing & other creative exercises to stimulate their affinity & interest in learning.


Impact:

Currently the Educational On Wheel project deploys 14 Full time teachers & 30+ support staffs who cater not only to the educational, emotional & personal grooming of the children but simultaneously offer regular counselling& awareness sessions to the family & community members. Total 14 buses ply across our catchment areas in West Bengal & Maharashtra to reach out more than 750+ children on daily basis.


In last 5 years, the intervention has been successful in reaching out to more than 10000 street children, motivating them to gear towards mainstream education & building their future.
