In rural areas of Durgapur, where kids have limited options of entertainment, a simple yet holistic measure that yields a positive impact on the development of children was the need of the hour.
After a need based survey, the first ever full-fledged children's park in the vicinity of Kanksa village under Durgapur sub division was constructed by Nirmaan in 2019 to fill in the gap of standard recreational spaces in the area. The park, set up at Kanksa Girls High School premises, aimed connecting the dots between education and engagement for rural school-going girls of the locality.
Decorated with latest recreational rides, ample greenery & beautified corners , the park has made recess period fun for the students while shaping up the emotional & physical needs.
Happiness of kids was the biggest measuring tool in this project and we are excited to bring smiles on these faces with this tiny effort. However, practically the park has not only spruced up the attendance of students in school but also created an avenue of enhanced physical & creative activity of more than 300 children on daily basis while improving on their social and competitive skills.
