Mid Day Meal Shade
Mid day meal facility are now integral to primary and elementary educational institutions of India. A large number of primary schools in rural outskirts though do not have hygienic kitchen space or clean water for cooking and serving the meals. To exacerbate the safety & well being of children in the remote village of Sundiara under Burdwan district, a Mid Day Meal Kitchen Shed has been constructed by Nirmaan in Sundiara Pre Primary School in 2018. The Model MDM kitchen shed with adequate storage, preparatory and cooking area & integrated Wash facilities ensure safe & hygienic meals to the students. Apart from the shed, Nirmaan has also revamped the drainage system of the school & ensured round the year running water facility to conduct regular handwashing & cooking chores apart from availing clear drinking water.
